multiple choice

Dress: LOFT
Sweater: Jcrew
Belt: Target
Shoes: Cole Haan

Why haven't I blogged in a week?

A. It's hot
B. My AC is broken
C. I'm "kinda" in job limbo
D. It was my anniversary
E. I'm Lazy
F: ALL OF THE ABOVE

If you chose 'F'..... ding, ding, ding -  you are a winner!

In addition to all those excuses, I've also discovered the (hidden?) world of Etsy. ya, I'm obsessed.

I've also been a point counting, Remy walking (so I can drink more), food weighing fool with this new weight watchers "program" .... so far so good, 4 lbs last week - and tomorrow is my second "weigh in". All I know is I better have lost more this week, seeing as now I sweat anytime I'm outside as well as anytime i'm IN my car (due to a broken AC), double the sweat means double the weight loss - right?

I'll be sure to keep you posted :)

worry wart.

Skirt: LOFT
Sweater: Jcrew
Shoes: Cole Haan

Apparently I forgot how to get dressed this morning.
I think my Nyquil and Afrin usage is finally starting to effect my brain. and it's usefulness.

This weekend was filled with LOTS of sleeping, movies, sleeping, and .... dog seizures. You read that right - Remy suffered his first dog seizure this weekend, and it was honestly the scariest thing ever. I don't think I will EVER be able to have kids, or at least have kids and allow them to live a normal life, because I would go absolutely INSANE worrying about them. I all but started seizing myself when little re-rod was having seizure after seizure. it was horrible.

Sunday however was a different story. My college roommate came to town to hang out - and that hanging out consisted of a bloody mary brunch, pedicures, hair cuts, starbucks, and chiplote. all of my favorite things in one day. ending with a "big fat gypsy wedding" marathon and all new episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians, and Ice Loves Coco. the best part of Sundays. duh.

How as your weekend?

vacation 101

Sweater: Jcrew
Shoes: Nine West

I know, I know .. this sweater AGAIN. What can I say? It's Friday. I'm sick. And it was what was on the couch when I was walking out the door. You may call is laziness. I just say I'm saving water aka: "going green".

Is it me or is EVERYONE (and their mom, sister, dog, and cousin) on vacation this week!?!

Did I miss the memo? I mean … I normally make bragging and announcing my time off number one on my priority list of things to do before leaving for vacation (or any amount of time off for that matter). I’m almost certain that every person in my office knows when, where, for how long, and that I will NOT be checking email a full week in advance!

Priorities people. Geez.

Speaking of which, I will be out of town for work/pleasure beginning July 1. And just in case you were wondering (because I'm sure you were) BECAUCE a portion of my “vacation” is for a work related cause, I WILL be checking email. Dangit.

In other news:

  • I’m still sick, but have discovered the power of Afrin thanks to one highly addicted little sister.
  • Casey Anthony Trial. It’s still going on. Spoiler Alert:  (Apparently) Cindy Anthony is the culprit of the 84 chlorophyll Google searches. Thank you Yahoo news for crackin’ the case.
  • It’s raining. Why? Because it’s Florida – and it’s summer time. Nuff said.
  • I’m super excited to try a new mixed drink (recommended by a co-worker who probably discovered it while on vacation) at the bar downstairs after work …so what if I’m sick? Apparently the drink does not have an official name ….. maybe that’s something us Hookers (Hook & Stylit Readers …. duh ) can come up with!?!

Public Service Announcement (to those with ADHD):

  • Dayquil and Adderall when combined is like speed.
  • Adderall cancels out Nyquils effects. It’s a fact. I tested the theory last night.

right on time.

Sweater: Jcrew
Dress / Shoes: Target

As far as Remy is concerned I am checking my email - NOT blogging. I promised the little house destroy-er a trip to the dog park, hoping that he could find it in his heart to forgive me for going out of town last weekend ... and stop potty-ing in his crate and ruining the air quality of my house. That little rem-rod sure knows how to hold a grudge!

Needless to say - todays post will be short.

The same super glue that held me to the bed yesterday morning was apparently still in full force this morning. It took every bit of will power and my hatred of the Casey Anthony case to get out of bed and out of the house before the trial began for the day. Had that all gone according to plan I would have broken my cardinal rule and been on time to work. To ensure that rule was not broken, I took a left out of the driveway and headed to the bank, and then to kill some more time I drove to 2 gas stations looking for "Red Machine" Naked juice (my fav) which apparently Publix (without consulting with me first) has stopped carrying. 3 pit stops later I strolled into work ... right on time.

... just lazy.

Shirt / Shoes: Target
Sweater: Jcrew
Skirt: Gap

Hello stylish friends - long time no post (I'll take the blame for that one)!

Disclaimer: This is the I wore yesterday but was too lazy to post. You can call me a lot of things, but a liar is not one of them :)

So when I ordered this skirt a few months ago I was obsessed with it ... but apparently obsession and wearing are 2 different things. Every time I put this skirt on I'm inevitably 30+ minutes late(r) to work .. I have the HARDEST time pairing it with tops and figuring out which shoes to wear ... and then as soon as I get to work I decide I hate my outfit and immediately want to go home for a wardrobe intervention. It was also a bad choice of outfits for me to wear because I had to move into the pre-school yesterday and well... getting under tables to plug all your teenage electronics in is not best practice while wearing a skirt.

I want to tell you all about my weekend, but it's Tuesday - and I feel like I'm a day late and a dollar short to be explaining events that feel like they occurred 10 years ago! so I wont. Please just know that my first Judy Levitz day celebration was a total drunkin' success.

Office Update: As I mentioned above, I have officially been relocated into the pre-school section of my office. Complete with a white board and desks with no dividers .. however, I'm still in the process of organizing my petition for nap time. To make my pre-school transition complete I've been having John drop me off in the mornings and make me lunches in the afternoon. I'm still trying to gauge when it will be appropriate to ask for snack time and colored pencils. I'm picking my battles.

Today's outfit was particularly horrible ...  definitely not an outfit deserving of pictures, explanation or discussion. yes, THAT bad.

Thats when I logged on to blogger and saw my picture in the "mini-feed" .. hmm? Turns out, my friend Jody featured me (and my maxi dress obsession) on her blog, Tickle Me Chic! Be sure to check it out:)

Rabbit Rabbit

Jeans: Gap
Headband: Jcrew
Shoes: Tory Burch

Rabbit Rabbit: It's what my college roommate and I race to tell each other on the 1st of every month - the first person to say it has good luck for the month. I lost this month.

I think my taste buds are maturing. I'm scared.

I've gone my entire life hating:
Olives
Asian food (except I like sushi without raw stuff)
White cream sauce ie: chicken alfredo
Apple pie (yes, for real)
Strawberries
Watermelon
Ginger

Now all of the sudden the stuff I threw temper tantrums and got grounded over in elementary school are kinda starting to taste alright.

urgh. I finally become old enough to move out, grocery shop on my own, and make my own meal decisions and now I decide to quit being a picky eater!?! W.T.F.

I guess my stomach finally caught up with the food budget. CHEAP.

I'm back!

Dress: Target
Shoes: Tory Burch

I'm back and better than ever!
I hope you loved meeting my guest bloggers as much as I love reading their posts everyday! I cannot thank them enough for helping me out and keeping your reading attention while I was on my 10 day computer hiatus.

Basically I have come to the conclusion that weekends are just wayy to short and to really be re-energized 10 days of vacation is required. you hear that job? T-E-N days!

ANYWAY.... Key-West was perfect, we couldn't have asked for better weather :) I wish I had some long lengthy, exciting explanation of how I spent my vacation days, possibly including visits to museums, meeting pirates, visiting a topless beach, discovering a lost shipwreck .. but in order for me to have done ANY of those things, I would have had to quit my lazy, day-drinking, sun bathing ... and well, that was just NOT going to be happening. There are few things in life I love more than sitting on the beach, beer in hand, friends on either side of me, reggae music, stacks of magazines, and no obligations. I really don't think there is anything better. really.

In honor of vacation I also chose to only wear clothing that didn't require a (real) bra, that could easily go from wet to dry, and that wouldn't hurt a potential sun burn ... basically the bigger/flowier the better. I managed to stick to my vacation-wear commandments through the entirety of my vacation.

This year I have decided to make myself a lot more comfortable (less self conscious) at the beach/pool and jump onto the one-piece bathing suit band wagon. Basically, I'm obsessed. Over the past few weeks in preparation for my trip I was able to find some really great suits!

Ann Taylor Loft:

Jcrew Long-Torso Suits:

Sorry I'm not able to better explain my trip - I am in the middle of baking carrot cake cupcakes (from scratch, thank you Barefoot Contessa) for a co-workers birthday tomorrow and the timer is beeping!

BUT .. until then, please enjoy some of my vacation pics!

i love k _ _ _ _ ?

Shirt: Gap
Tank: Target
Pants: Gap
Shoes: Nine West

I bought this shirt a few weeks ago at the Gap when all their tops were 50% off AND I had a $20 dollar off Gap rewards card. Basically, the Gap got robbed that day. I was able to walk out with this $50 shirt for a cool $6 bucks. bring it on Gap.

A very weird thing happened today. I think some would even consider what happened a revelation of sorts. An epiphany might be pushing the envelope a little much, but none the less I came to a realization.

Kmart is cool. It dawned on me as I was roaming the aisles looking for a slip (finally) .... that I could actually see myself wearing some of the clothing in their womens and juniors sections. Yes, I did ask myself if my one glass of wine had somehow gotten my drunk, if my cheapness had reached an all new low, and if maybe I had walked into the wrong store?
Answers: No, maybe, and no.
I was very surprised to see magazine worthy maxi dresses, Jcrew(ish) looking bathing suits, super cute bathing suit cover-ups, and more importantly .... CHEAP slips!
Once you get over the fact that you are shopping in Kmart - there is an endless world of clothing possibilities.

Who knows what's next... Wal Mart? Crazier things have happened.

Here's a few of my Kmart favorites - eat your heart out Anthropologie. you've got some stiff competition.

the white truth

Shirt: Gap
Jeans: Gap
Shoes: Payless

I think it's also pretty lame (of me) that I have worn this shirt COUNTLESS times ... in fact this may very well be one of my favorite tops ... and ya'll have never had the (wonderful) opportunity to see it! I'm not sure why whenever I wear this top I forget to take outfit pictures, but I'm pretty sure it's because subconciously I don't really want you to know how much I actually wear this gem.

I have a question for you - how do we feel about white denim? In all honesty? Gap, Jcrew, and LOFT are saturating their websites with these questionable clothing items and I'm just not sure which side of the fence I fall on when it comes to these purely whites.
I posted them to my website, Outfitchec.com this evening, but the jury is still out. Log on and rate them!

Today is the day ... drum roll please ... THE VOICE!!
I fell victim to NBC's relentless advertising and actually found myself re-arranging my Tuesday night TV schedule to see see what all the hype was about. I'll just go ahead and admit it: I'm lame.

In other news, I had a WONDERFUL meeting today with a fellow Orlando blogger and a lover of all things pretty, Miss Mary, the creator of the beautiful design blog Olivet. Together we have brainstormed some pretty big ideas that  I think ya'll are really going to like :) No beans are spilling out of my bag .. you will just have to keep checking in to see what we have up our (always adorable) sleeves!

popcorn intervention

Dress: Target
Sweater: Jcrew
Shoes: Target

I guess it's probably time to let you in on a little secret.
I'm addicted to popcorn.
100 calorie, microwaveable, popcorn. I swear to you, I don't think there is anything better in the world. Sprinkle with a little kosher salt, fresh ground pepper and grated parmesean cheese - and there you have it, my weakness in a bowl. I'm literally obsessed. I probably go through 2 boxes a week and sometimes find myself "grocery shopping" and coming home with ONLY popcorn. John does not share my same affinity for popcorn - so when I have to explain the numerous popcorn bowls in the sink and the reason we are ALWAYS out of parmesean cheese, he threatens a popcorn intervention. While I'm not entirely sure there is such thing as a food intervention - I usually try and tone down the popcorn-ing for a day or 2 and limit myself to popping only while he's at work, or sleeping, or in the shower, or not paying attention. Today is one of those days.

Last night John and I had "date night" - how is this different than any other night of the week, you might ask? Well my friends, we went to a movie.
Explanation: I normally HATE going to movies. John and I have been to a grand total of 3 movies in our entire relationship and watched even less than that from the comfort of our couch. Reason being - I have horrible ADHD. John HATES this - he is a total movie watching junkie. Going/watching a movie is like pure torture for me, just the thought of sitting in one spot for longer than 10 minutes makes me break into hives. So last night at dinner, after a long day of doing whatever I want (as usual), John brought up the "brilliant" idea to go see a movie. He usually does this every few months, I always say no, life goes on.
Not the case last night. John must have been crafting a book of ways to counter all my excuses over the past 3 years and decided to debut his little masterpiece last night at dinner, naming all the reasons why we SHOULD go to a movie:
Reason number 1: popcorn.
Reason number 2: We could see Soul Surfer. I hate surprises, so going to see a movie where I already know what the ending will be didn't take me too far out of my comfort zone
Reason number 3: he would pay.

Last night my friends, John and I saw movie number 4 of our 3 year relationship and I only went to the bathroom twice.
